Fellowship of Christian Athletes

I-Help (Interfaith Housing Emergency Lodging Plan)

Monterey County Food Bank Supporter

    Global and Local Outreach Education

    Be part of the Global and Local Outreach Team to prayerfully discern and administer the global and local outreach portion of the Mayflower budget. Work with global and local outreach leader and bookkeeper to disburse global and local outreach funds.
    Time Commitment: Monthly team meeting on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. Additional 1-2 hours per month at certain times of year.
    Skills/Experience: Budget and computer skills desirable.

    Global and Local Outreach Partners Support

    Time Commitment: Part of a day or evening, a day or more for hosting overnight, planning might involve several months
    Skills/Experience: A hospitable heart and Interest in people, in particular listening to our global and local outreach members and learning about their lives and their work.

    Short Term Global and Local Outreach Trip

    Experience global and local outreach work first hand. Join or support Mayflower's team for a short term summer global outreach trip to Guadalajara Mexico.

    Assist Sound Engineer during Services and other church events.Help set up microphones, test sound system, run sound and record sermons.
    Time Commitment: Prefer a 6 month commitment. Once a month for scheduled Sunday: .1-2 hours on Sunday during services and special events.
    Skills/Experience: Able to collaborate and learn with the sound engineer. Able to hear sound experience and adjust as needed. Able to work under pressure and be flexible and diplomatic.

    CD Sermon Duplication Ministry

    Description:

    Copy , label , organize, file, CD's for shut in's and other requests . Phone those who have not picked up requested CDs.
    Time Commitment: 30 minutes to 1 hour, weekly, Monday or Tuesday during church business hours.
    Skills/Experience: Able to use software that formats digital sound to WMA or MP3 format.
    Other Info: Training provided. Could also make copies off site using the recorded sermons on the Church's website (although with reduced quality).

    Celebration Choir Member

    Description:

    Sing in the choir which typically performs once a month excluding summers.
    Time Commitment: 30 minutes on Sunday when singing. 8:30 a.m. warm up for 9:00 a.m. service. Practice Monday evenings. Also may sing at some special services.
    Skills/Experience: Ability to sing and harmonize with others. Reading music is nice but not required.
    Other Info: Special services: for example-Easter, Palm Sunday. Ash Wednesday , Maundy Thursday , and 11pm Christmas Eve 11pm Candlelight service. Others.

    Pianist/Organist Substitute to Relieve Choir Director

    Prepare Visuals with Lyrics for Projection for Sunday Service

    Prepare visuals for projection for Sunday 10:40 a.m. Service
    Time Commitment: 1-2 hours weekly between Thursday and Saturday
    Skills/Experience: PowerPoint skills. If have advanced skills could add photos, images.
    Other Info: This volunteer could be part of the Sound Team if interested or it could be done as a stand alone task.

    Worship Team Vocalists / Musicians

    Participate with team that provides praise music for the contemporary service plus twice a year at nursing homes and/or in homes of shut ins.
    Time Commitment: Approx. 4 hours per week . Worship service , 2 hour rehearsal 6:30 Thursday and 30 minute practice at 10 a.m. on Sunday. At least a 3 month commitment is expected.
    Skills/Experience: Worshipper first, musician second. Ability to work with others paramount. Read music, sing and/or play an instrument.
    Other Info: Must audition to be on the team.
