Mayflower is unique. We are God's body, the church at the corner of Central and 14th Avenue in Pacific Grove. Not because that's where the building is, but because that's where we worship on Sunday, and a lot of equipping, fellowship and service happens. However, it moves out from there into homes, businesses, schools, work places, mission fields, as part of the work of the church.

The work of the church is primarily not the work of our staff, but of we the members. Every member a minister. We participate in the body, receiving, teaching and growing in faith and knowledge. We experience love and healing in fellowship, and use our gifts in service. The Spirit leads and energizes us so that God is glorified. Worship occurs when we praise and thank God for His goodness, love and work in our individual lives.

It is expressed well with the "Message" translation of Ephesians 4:10-13, 15-16: "He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christians in skilled servant work, working within Christ's body, the church, until we're all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God's Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ. God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in loveÑlike Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love."

We urge you this Fall to jump in to small groups, Bible study, fellowship and using your gifts. After all, the church is not complete without you, and you will be blessed.
